Expressive art for children and youth that experience bullying can be extremely effective. When a child is bullied their world can change dramatically. The impact may prevent them from coming back to their normal base line, leaving them with social anxiety and many other possible issues. The expressive art process can help bring them back to a state of calm. The work is getting it out so they can feel lighter. The fear response can be strong for their little systems, and it needs release. The art will slowly bring them back to sensation where there is a disconnect. The sooner a child or youth that experiences bullying can access a way to process and release, the better the more immediate outcome. Children and youth respond well to expressive art.
